A (Really) Grimm Fairy Tale

by Pam Sievers 18 Comments

Once upon a time in a land not so far away, a nasty bug crawled over the entire earth. Creepier than a cockroach with a bite worse than a scorpion, it was a virus that changed the way everyone lived. Schools were closed, businesses had to lock their doors and people were told to stay home in an effort to capture this bug. Suddenly, parents had to teach their children, we had to fix our own meals, and learn to be entertained with just the people we lived with. Days stretched into weeks, that Continue Reading

I wrote a book

What are the chances that Madeline Albright and I had new books that went live on the same day? Coincidence? Oh sure, our contracts may be different, beginning with the fact that she has one and I don’t. Our subject matter differs slightly. Hers is the third memoir of her life as a distinguished ambassador, cabinet member and global influencer. My first novel is a light-weight rom-com that according to my kindle version, can be read in around six hours. That’s about the same time it takes Continue Reading

It’s all about the toilet paper

by Pam Sievers 2 Comments

In 1982, I stood on the shores of Loch (Lake) Ness in Scotland, and looked out, searching for the Loch Ness monster. I knew it was a crazy notion. Saturday, I dipped my toes in what can only be called Loch Charmin. I was in search of the elusive toilet paper – just as crazy. I made it to my grocery store Continue Reading

No more news for me

by Pam Sievers 8 Comments

That’s it, I’m turning off the news. I’ve had enough, and I can’t watch anymore. Political campaigns? No.Coronavirus? NopeA divided government? No way. Why have I chosen a life of avoidance and denial? SNAKES! And if I’m going to live in Arizona, I’m quickly learning this will be an annual affair. For the last week, I’m sure every local newscast featured with this story: Remember, as the weather warms up, the snakes wake up. Apparently, when the night time lows are above 50, it Continue Reading

Welcome to my website!

Welcome to my website where my goal is to fill the pages with writing that induces gut wrenching laughs. Since I have no spouse, in-laws, children, grandchildren or pets, I have to work a whole lot harder than most humor writers. Instead you’ll find a blog that features travel, contemplative reflections, and of course some humor – you can’t embrace middle age without it. When not writing, I enjoy quilting so check out my quilting page. I hope you enjoy!
