February. Dull, gray, lifeless. It’s the time of year I always say to my hair stylist “I think I want to add a swatch of wild color across the top of my hair.”
“That’s just winter talking,” she responds. It’s become a February ritual.
So instead of that, I’ve decided to have a facelift. Well, at least a facelift to my website, and I’ve switched from one blogging platform to another. Why? I want to make it easier for people to read on any device they use, I want readers to be able to subscribe more easily, and I want the process of commenting to be rather fluid and less cumbersome because I love hearing from you! And did I mention the address is easier to remember – mypatchworkjourney.com. It’s that simple.
Take a minute to check it out. You’ll see I’ve added a new page that focuses on quilting and another that has links that lead directly to some of my favorite travel posts. And who knows, I may place travel tips, tools and resources there as well. Both of these sections are truly works in progress, so please, check back occasionally.
I’ve also added a list of my favorite blogs and I encourage you to check them out (but come back to mine!). And there’s a new search feature so if you want to find a previous post, just enter the topic, and it will direct you there.
I hope you like the new look, though it’s vastly different from the previous blog site. And more importantly, I hope you’ll stay with me as I continue this blogging fun, and expand my website to include other features as well. This spring, I’ll be venturing into some spots of this country that are new to me and can’t wait to take you with.
All in all, I’m really excited. There’s a cost to all change. In this case, it was more than a new color, but a whole heck of a lot cheaper than a real facelift. Now about my hair…
P.S. If you’re not a subscriber, I hope you’ll consider it – it means every time I add a new post (once a week or so), a message will arrive in your email box with a link to the blog. Nothing more, no ads, no spam. Just good ol’ me. And if you are viewing this on a phone or tablet, you’ll need to scroll to the bottom to find the subscription box.

Like the new format Pam. I enjoy reading your blog, but as you mentioned, I did not always go and read it because of the extra steps to get to it while on my tablet. Hope you have a wonderful day.

Thanks Marge, and hopefully, this will be easier – let me know of challenges you have along the way. One glitch is that I wasn’t notified of the responses, so I am just now responding. A work in progress… Keep reading – you’ll like the next post, I am sure.

This site seems easier to use. I always had trouble commenting on the other site for some reason. I love reading your blog. I never miss reading it.
Oh, by the way, the facelift looks great! ?

Thanks so much! Love the feedback, but didn’t get notice that I had comments, so I’m really behind. A little glitch I need to fix. Keep coming back for more… I’ll try not to disappoint.

Great picture of the quilt. I look forward to the new sections. Is the text in a gray color? I like more contrast or more contrast is easier on my aging eyes. Just sayin….
Keep up the good work.

Saw both responses Margaret – really appreciate you taking the time to comment.

My comment seems to have disappeared.
I wrote that the new quilt is beautiful. I look forward to the new sections. Keep up the good work.
One suggestion…the gray text and even the orange are hard on my aging eyes. I like to have more contrast between the text and the background. Just sayin…..

Great feedback – thanks Margaret!

Pam, I love the idea of a new look and I especially love the quilt cover page! This font is a little faded for my eyes but I strain them to read anything you post! As for the hair color…I’ve been threatening purple hair for a couple weeks now. It’s really nothing new and quite age appropriate. I remember several of my old teachers sported blue and lavender hair when I was in K-12!
Pam Sievers says
Thanks Sue. I WILL NOT be one of those blue haired teachers I remember as well. My nieces gave me some hair chalk that rinses out – maybe we should make an afternoon of it. Sorry for the delayed response. A casualty of the new blog, but I will adjust.
