Wisconsin was home for my first 28+ years. Then Michigan for the next 36+, except for three years in Japan. I never visualized living any place else. Clink… Clink, clink, clink……. Clink, clink. I barely lift my head off my pillow to try and figure out the noise that wakes me. I strain to open my eyes and I notice a light. From the kitchen? I’m so content, I could cry
I’m so content, I could cry. This past week, I celebrated my birthday with a fabulous dinner in my beautiful home, and even treated myself to a pedicure which left me feeling invigorated. Later in the week, I went out to eat in a favorite restaurant, and finally enjoyed a refreshing dip in our community pool. What a life. What joy. Finding your happy place
The really great news for me is that I made it well into my ninth week of lockdown without opening a package of Oreos. Finding a glimmer of hope and happiness seems to be the key to survival during this time, isn’t it? Celebrating the smallest of successes?
