Releasing My Inner Cowgirl

by Pam Sievers

Matt Dillion, Miss Kitty, Festus and Doc; the Lone Ranger and Tonto; Victoria Barkley, and her children Heath, Nick, Jerrod and Audra; Ben Cartright and his sons Adam, Hoss and Little Joe, but my favorite, James West and Artemus Gordon. Can you name those TV shows from the 1960s and early 70s? They were absolutely some of my favorite programs, and like so many Americans, I fell in love with the romance and lore portrayed in the westerns. However, unlike most Americans, I never grew out of the Continue Reading

America The Beautiful – The Ozarks

by Pam Sievers

A little update from our Yankee Doodle Tour. That’s what I’ve named this because you don’t go to Branson if you’re not on a tour. Seriously, I told Kathy I was buying lanyards and making nametags so we’d fit right in, and get the discounts. We’re already the right age, and have the sensible walking shoes. From Branson, Missouri to Mountain View, Arkansas, we experienced the tremendous range in culture found in the Ozarks. And along the way, I've learned more about the geography of the Continue Reading

Are You Siri-us?

by Pam Sievers

I lost the argument this morning about 5 minutes after we left our hotel, but in the end, I won the debate. That’s what really matters, doesn’t it? And besides, the extra few miles took us past home produce stands, pumpkin patches, and beautiful country homes with wide, manicured lawns and friendly columns as we left lovely Bloomington, Indiana. Kathy, my travel buddy, and I generally have well defined roles. She is the primary driver and I am the navigator. This works well as I do best driving Continue Reading

Jammin’ on the Porch

by Pam Sievers

In anticipation of an upcoming road trip, I couldn’t help but remember a great experience I had last spring while traveling through Kentucky. Months later, it still brings a smile to my face. From March, 2014…  I wasn't exactly sure what to expect but as soon as we got out of the car, we could hear the music coming from the small Kentucky Christian Church. It was time to go inside and find out. I hoped they didn't mind that we were a few minutes late. It had been a great day and this Continue Reading

Welcome to my website!

Welcome to my website where my goal was to fill the pages with writing that induces gut wrenching laughs. Since I have no spouse, in-laws, children, grandchildren or pets, I have to work a whole lot harder than most humor writers. Hence, instead you’ll find a blog that features travel, contemplative reflections, and of course some humor – you can’t embrace middle age without it. When not writing, I enjoy quilting, learning about other cultures, and living in the Arizona desert.
